A three-act stage play in Dutch: a handful of survivors on a life raft, adrift on a sea of ball-pit balls.
Geen Paniek (“Don’t panic”) is a stage play in three acts that I wrote in Dutch.
It opens at night, in moonlight, on the back of a bright yellow and red life raft, slowly turning on a sea of ball-pit balls. It isn’t clear yet how many survivors there are, or how long they have been adrift. What they do have: a horn, a wind-up radio, a flare with a single shot, and one phone with 55 percent battery left. Before they can decide anything about being rescued, they have to agree on how to decide.
The script went through several rounds of feedback, act by act, and there is now also a Swedish translation.
