Chaplinko

A Plinko-style game where you steer the falling ball by flipping the pull between two magnets, against the clock.

A vertical-slice prototype from 2024. As in Plinko, a ball bounces its way down the board, but here you get a say in where it ends up: with a single button you flip the pull between a magnet on the left and one on the right, all against a countdown. When the clock runs low, pulsing text and a ticking sound ramp up the tension, and the music follows the magnet from side to side.

My part of the project: the magnet attraction, the ball behaviour, the bonus-time triggers, and the countdown and feedback logic, built on top of the Doozy UI toolkit.

Where it started: one ball, one plane, no magnets yet.

Blocking out the board — lanes, a ramp, and a car for scale, long before the magnets and the countdown clock.
